Information about "Leeu Passant Radicales Libres 2018"
Captivating notes of lemon, orange, and nectarine characterize the Leeu Passant Radicales Libres. The subtle indication of rancio enhances the character of this remarkable Chardonnay, peppered with gentle spice undertones. It boasts significant structure combined with lively energy, offering flavors that recall warm crêpes drizzled with lemon, intertwined with hints of green almonds and saffron. This wine, harvested from the stony heights of Helderberg Mountain at 400 meters, reflects the cooling maritime breezes from False Bay.
Grapes sourced from Barrydale in the Klein Karoo. Aged for 60 months in old barriques. Inspired by oxidative white wines globally, Radicales Libres is crafted from Chardonnay harvested at normal ripeness, fermented, and then aged in barrel for an extended period (up to five years).
