Information about "Leeu Passant Cinsault Wellington 2023"
The Leeu Passant Cinsault Wellington enchants with its brilliant color, offering aromas of dark raspberries and ripe cherries, complemented by notes of thyme and a hint of pomegranate. The palate reveals fine, silky tannins and an impressively long, fulfilling finish.
'Leeu Passant', meaning 'passing lion', is a term from heraldry representing strength and elegance, featured on the capsule. Chris and Andrea Mullineux discover the finest grape plots for these wines, crafted at the Leeu Passant base on Leeu Estates. This outstanding Cinsault is sourced from the oldest registered red wine vineyard in the country.
The grapes were handpicked in the early morning and transported to the cellar, where whole berries underwent spontaneous fermentation. Following three weeks of maceration, the wine aged for 20 months in 500-liter French oak barrels.
