The Kershaw GPS Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge Pinot Noir enchants with its bright clarity and unfolds a captivating bouquet of spicy and floral aromas that highlight its extraordinary purity, focus, and freshness. On the palate, it displays a juicy and lively character with silky tannins, revealing layers of black cherries, pomegranate, rose petals, and raspberries. It concludes with a perfect, satisfying, and lengthy finish, truly showcasing the essence of its terroir.
Treatment in the cellar
The grapes were hand-picked, sorted, and destemmed. The destemmed grapes were placed on a vibrating table to remove inferior berries before being fermented whole in small 500 kg open tanks. A 3-day maceration preceded the spontaneous fermentation. A gentle délestage process was implemented, where the entire juice flowed out of the tank daily to remove unwanted yeasts. The grapes remained on the skins for 10-12 days before being carefully basket-pressed. Malolactic fermentation occurred, and the wine aged for 10-11 months in French oak barrels before bottling and release.
