With its radiant lemon-yellow hue, the Kershaw Deconstructed Kogelberg Ironstone CY548 delights the senses. Aromas of citrus oil, lime, and a hint of lemon cookies intertwine on the nose. The palate introduces a lively tension through its crisp acidity and salty-mineral texture. Mid-palate flavors reveal enticing notes of stone fruit, apricot cream, roasted almonds, and a touch of oatmeal. Subtle oak layering lends a soothing softness to the finish, enhancing the concentration of white stone fruit with a touch of robustness.
Eine kleine Anzahl von handwerklichen Küfern wurden ausgewählt, alle aus Burgund, und nur französische Eiche wurde ausgewählt. Wichtig ist, dass dieser Wein als eine separate Charge mikro-vinifiziert wurde. Im Jahr 2021 wurden 100 % neue Eichenfässer verwendet, und zwar zu 100 % Fässer mit einem Fassungsvermögen von 228 Litern.

Perfekt trifft es wohl
2021 war ein herausragendes Jahr in Elgin und das schmeckt man auch so. Vielleicht der beste Chardonnay, den ich je trinken durfte. Der Preispunkt ist heftig, aber verglichen mit Burgund, Napa oder den Topprodukten aus Australien, fast schon wieder human. Sollte auf jeden Fall dekantiert werden. Ein herausragender Kershaw.
