Behold the Keermont Topside Syrah, showcasing a deep plum shade that enchants the nose with an exquisite bouquet of dark fruit, mingled with nuances of fragrant rose petals, ripe strawberries, and tea leaf. On the palate, it presents a soft yet juicy texture complemented by a firm, robust tannic backbone. This esteemed Syrah divulges rich notes of red fruits and sandalwood, while the prolonged finish offers a sumptuous harmony of fruit, natural acidity, and structural integrity.
Situated on the steep, westward slopes of the Stellenbosch Mountain range (350 meters above sea level), the Topside Syrah vineyards are characterized by their altitude and soil composition of sandstone and granite, both of which enhance the wine's spiced profile and fine tannin structure.
The handpicked grapes for this masterful Syrah are sourced exclusively from Keermont's own vineyards, vinified separately according to block and ripeness. Fermentation occurred naturally, traditionally, and with great care in open fermenters. Post-fermentation, the wine aged for 20 months in French Barriques (500L) and was bottled by hand, unfiltered.
