The Keermont Steepside Syrah enchants with its vivid strawberry-red color, setting the stage for an enticing sensory experience. Spicy and floral notes greet the nose, complemented by delicate hints of cloves, ripe strawberries, and black plums. On the palate, this remarkable Syrah unfolds generously, showcasing a full-bodied richness with ripe, spicy fruit flavors. Its firm structure leads to a juicy, dry finish, marked by vibrant notes of red fruits.
Situated at an altitude of 300 meters, the vineyards for Steepside Syrah thrive on fertile red clay soils enriched with iron and quartz. This unique terroir, paired with ample sunlight, yields bold, well-structured wines with a delightful herbal and spicy aromatic character.
The hand-picked grapes for this masterful Syrah come exclusively from Keermont's own vineyards, vinified separately by block and ripeness. The fermentation process occurred naturally and gently in open fermenters. After fermentation, the wine aged for 20 months in French barriques (500 l) and was bottled by hand, unfiltered.
