The Keermont Riverside Chenin Blanc shines with a delicate golden hue and enchants with an impressive bouquet of citrus blossoms, roasted spices, and fresh pears. On the palate, it presents itself as tight and clear, embodying delicious flavors of ripe Granny Smith apples and a hint of cumin. Its vibrant acidity provides a long, well-structured finish that lingers pleasantly. The grapes are sourced from one of Keermont's oldest vineyards, planted in 1971 and situated along the upper Blaauwklippen River, where the soils consist of alluvial plains and red clay. At an elevation of 250 m, this ancient vineyard consistently produces exceptional quality grapes year after year.
The hand-harvested grapes for this enchanting Chenin Blanc come exclusively from Keermont's riverbank vineyards, vinified separately by block and ripeness. Fermentation occurred gently and traditionally in open fermenters. Post-fermentation, the wine matured for 12 months on its lees in French barriques and was bottled unfiltered by hand.
