The The Galvanised Chardonnay charms with its bouquet of delicate floral notes, refreshing herbs, and ripe citrus, subtly enhanced by elegant yeast spice. On the palate, it presents clarity and directness, with juicy fruit, lively acidity, and a pleasantly bitter, structured finish. This Chardonnay skillfully reflects the cool, elevated origin of the Banhoek vineyard at 450 meters, offering balance, finesse, and a concentrated yet unobtrusive style.
Die Trauben stammen aus einem 21 Jahre alten Chardonnay-Weinberg in Spaliererziehung, gelegen auf der Summercourt Farm am Simonsberg auf 400 m Höhe. Nach sorgfältiger Handlese und Sortierung wurden sie schonend als ganze Trauben gepresst. Der Most wurde über Nacht bei 10 °C vorgeklärt, bevor er zur spontanen Gärung in gebrauchte französische Eichenfässer (225 l und 300 l) kam. Auch die malolaktische Gärung verlief natürlich. Es wurde bewusst auf eine intensive Bâtonnage verzichtet, um Frische und Präzision zu bewahren.
