The Hogan Divergent Red Blend entices with vivid aromas of cranberry, cassis, rose blossoms, and fresh herbs, enhanced by a touch of fynbos. On the palate, a rich, dense fruit character meets lively freshness. The velvety, fine tannins contribute refinement and structure, creating a remarkable tribute to the renowned red blends from Château Musar in Lebanon. A stunning composition that beautifully reflects its unique terroir.
This Divergent Blend comprises 38% Cabernet Sauvignon, 38% Carignan, and 23% Cinsaut. The Carignan is sourced from 19-year-old, un-irrigated bush vines in Wellington, while the Cinsaut grapes hail from 47-year-old bush vines in the Helderberg region. The Cabernet Sauvignon also comes from a young, un-irrigated vineyard in Helderberg. All grapes were crushed and destemmed, except for 30% whole bunches in the Cinsaut, before undergoing natural fermentation. After fermentation, the different varieties were pressed and aged separately in 225-liter barrels for nine months.
