Glenelly Lady May is the crown jewel of Glenelly, capturing the heart of Stellenbosch's esteemed wine landscape. This 2020 Bordeaux blend pays homage to Lady May, the revered owner, and features a special label commemorating her centenary. With rich dark berry aromas complemented by whispers of mocha and cedar, it excites the senses. The palate reveals sweet fruit nuances, silky tannins, and a prolonged, sophisticated finish, symbolizing both Lady May and this extraordinary tribute wine.
The grapes were gently crushed and fermented in stainless steel tanks using exclusively natural yeasts. After fermentation, the wine rested on its skins for two to three weeks before being gently pressed. It underwent malolactic fermentation in French barriques, aging for 12 months as individual components in 30-40% new 300L barrels. The final blend consists of 59% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Petit Verdot.
