The Eikendal Charisma captures the essence of its cultivars—Shiraz, Petit Verdot, and Sangiovese—melding Rhône and Bordeaux influences with a touch of Italian artistry. The Shiraz (48%) provides an invigorating structure laden with aromatic spices and lively fruit characteristics. Petit Verdot (39%) introduces a luscious blackberry depth, while Sangiovese (13%) contributes delightful fruit-forward accents that charm the palate. Originating from Stellenbosch, this blend is not just a wine, but a captivating experience.
The three varietals in this intriguing blend were vinified separately. The grapes were destemmed but not crushed, undergoing a cold maceration phase lasting ten to fifteen days. The wines matured for ten months in 500-liter barrels, before being skillfully blended. The Sangiovese always includes a portion from the previous vintage to bring freshness and Italian zest. Finally, the completed blend was aged for an additional three months in stainless steel tanks before being lightly filtered and bottled for optimal enjoyment.
