The Eikendal Charisma captures the essence of its cultivars—Shiraz, Petit Verdot, and Sangiovese—melding Rhône and Bordeaux influences with a touch of Italian artistry. The Shiraz (48%) provides an invigorating structure laden with aromatic spices and lively fruit characteristics. Petit Verdot (39%) introduces a luscious blackberry depth, while Sangiovese (13%) contributes delightful fruit-forward accents that charm the palate. Originating from Stellenbosch, this blend is not just a wine, but a captivating experience.
Die drei Rebsorten, die in diese höchst interessante Cuvée miteingeflossen sind, wurden separat vinifiziert. Das Traubengut wurde entrappt, jedoch nicht gequetscht und einer Kaltquellphase von zehn bis 15 Tagen unterzogen. Die Weine reiften zehn Monate in 500 Liter Barriques woraufhin sie mit großer Sorgfalt gekonnt verschnitten wurden. Wobei der Sangiovese immer dem Blend vom vorigen Jahrgang hinzugefügt wird, um eine Frische und italienische Rassigkeit in den Wein zu bringen. Danach wurde die fertige Cuvée noch drei Monate in Tanks aus Edelstahl gelagert, bevor sie leicht gefiltert für den fertigen Genuss auf die Flasche gefüllt wurde.
