The DeMorgenzon Reserve Chenin Blanc captivates with vibrant aromas of white flowers and juicy peaches, enhanced by delicate notes of fragrant apricots. On the palate, it wraps you with opulent flavors of ripe pear, crisp apple, honey, and a hint of almond, finished with a subtle touch of vanilla. This wine is distinguished by its remarkable balance between fruit intensity and refreshing acidity. This Chenin is sourced from low-yield vines planted in 1972, benefiting from the cooling breezes of False Bay during warm summer months.
The grapes were harvested at four different times to achieve optimal ripeness and balance in the wine. Handpicked in the early morning, the grapes were immediately cooled upon arrival at the winery and then pressed whole. The juice rested overnight before naturally fermenting in French oak barrels, with 20% of the barrels being new. After fermentation, the wine aged on its lees for ten months without stirring.
