The Delheim Grand Reserve 2021 captivates with a deep ruby color, presenting a complex aromatic profile of dark fruits, primarily blackberries and currants, complemented by notes of tobacco, tomato leaves, fresh pencil shavings, and cassis. It reveals elegance on the palate, layered with dark red fruit and a silky finish. First produced in 1981, this iconic wine exemplifies exceptional winemaking and the remarkable terroir of the Simonsberg-Stellenbosch vineyards. A truly distinguished flagship cuvée.
Die Trauben wurden von Hand gelesen und leicht gequetscht. Gärung erfolgte bei kontrollierter Temperatur zwischen 25 und 28°C. Die einzelnen Weine hatten eine 18 monatige Reifezeit in Fässern aus französischer Eiche wovon 30% Neu vor sie verschnitten wurden und weitere 4 Monate in 300 Liter Fässern reiften vor veröffentlichung.
