Displaying a charming pale yellow hue, the De Trafford Chenin Blanc 2023 captivates with lively aromas of fresh lime and succulent peach, complemented by elegant hints of lemon verbena, fynbos honey, juicy pear, and delicate floral notes. On the palate, this acclaimed wine reveals a soft, creamy texture, layered with complex flavors and alluring richness. The finish is impressively extended and velvety, creating a memorable experience.
Treatment in the cellar
The grapes for this elegant and complex Chenin Blanc were lightly crushed and underwent a three-hour skin contact phase before being gently pressed in a traditional basket press. The juice obtained was treated with sulphite and left to rest for two days before being vinified 100% in French oak barrels and aged for nine months. During maturation, the lees were stirred regularly to achieve a fuller mouthfeel and perfect concentration in the wine. 15% of the barrels were new, while the remaining barrels were previously used. After maturation, the wine was lightly refined with natural bentonite clay and bottled unfiltered by hand.
