The De Trafford Blueprint Syrah 2021 exemplifies the finest attributes of Stellenbosch terroir. Clad in its rich purple hue, it reveals a bouquet brimming with ripe blueberries and plums, intricately woven with fynbos undertones and delicate hints of eucalyptus and pepper. On the palate, it delivers invigorating freshness complemented by blackberry and spice notes, with refined tannins leading to a prolonged, fulfilling finish. This well-balanced vintage unfolds beautifully in the glass; decanting is advisable to enhance its expressive character.
Das Traubengut wurde handverlesen, entrappt und leicht gequetscht (10% der Trauben am ganzen Bund) direkt in offene Fermenter und bei max 30° Grad spontan mit natürlichen Hefen vergoren. Der Tresterhut wurde 2-3 mal täglich für einen Zeitraum von 16 Tagen von Hand untergetaucht. Der Saft wurde durch die Korbpresse direkt in die Fässer gepresst. Die malolaktische Fermentierung fand im Holz statt. Anschließend reifte der Wein 20 Monate lang im Fass, wobei kein Neuholz zum Einsatz kam. Der Wein wurde ungefiltert und ungeklärt per Hand abgefüllt.
