Vineyard De Krans
De Krans Winery is located along the upper reaches of the ʺGamka River Valleysʺ near Calitzdorp.
The history of the farm dates back to 1890 when it became the property of the Nel family. Since 1985 most of the classic Portuguese grape varieties have been grown here.
De Krans produces an impressive portfolio of excellent wines of these classic grape varieties. The winery has won more than 500 medals since 1980 and has been named Champion Private Wine Cellar of the Klein Karoo region several times. De Krans has gained a worldwide reputation for its award-winning fortified wines and for its very interesting red wines from unusual grape varieties such as Touriga Nacional and Tempranillo. De Krans Cape Vintage Reserve is widely regarded as one of the best fortified wines in South Africa.
