The Crystallum The Agnes Chardonnay impresses with an enticing bouquet of crisp pear, quince, pineapple, and lemongrass. On the palate, it exhibits a firm and pristine structure, bringing forth the rich flavors of oatmeal and butterscotch. Its opulent and multifaceted texture is perfectly balanced by a mineral backbone and a refreshing salinity, enhanced by vibrant acidity.
This highly regarded Chardonnay is dedicated to Great-Grandmother Agnes—a remarkable figure celebrated as a charismatic trailblazer in the Overberg region, one of the first women in Cape Town to obtain a driver’s license.
Dieser Chardonnay wurde nach traditioneller Methode hergestellt. Die Trauben wurden am ganzen Bund in die Presse gegeben. Der dabei gewonnene Saft wurde über Nacht runtergekühlt und am nächsten Tag in große Eichenfässer übertragen und spontan vergoren, ohne Zusatz von SO2 oder Enzymen. Die Fermentierung erfolgte im Fass mit anschließender Reifung von neun Monaten vor Abfüllung.
