Cape Point Vineyards Isliedh captivates with its exquisite blend of Sauvignon Blanc, richly textured Sémillon, and a hint of Sauvignon Gris, all contributing to its remarkable complexity. The nose reveals floral notes of elderflower and fragrant peach blossom, embracing vibrant aromas of white fruits, ripe nectarines, pink grapefruit, fig, and lemon cream. A delicate spice from oak, complemented by fresh thyme, adds an extra dimension to this exquisite wine. On the palate, it is lush and saline, exhibiting a full-bodied and well-structured character that leads to a classic, long, mineral finish.
Isliedh is a true classic from the Cape, having received the prestigious 5-star rating from the John Platter South African Wine Guide eleven times since its 2003 debut. Wine critic Tim Atkin asserts that Isliedh is “the finest white Bordeaux blend of South Africa.” Pronunciation: ai-lay
Das Traubengut wurde in den frühen Morgenstunden handgelesen und am ganzen Bund gepresst. Der Sauvignon Blanc wurde in Fässern aus französischem Eichenholz fermentiert, während der Semillon in alten traditionellen Tonamphoren ausgebaut wurde, um die mineralischen Aspekte dieser wundervollen Rebsorte hervorzuheben. Der Sauvignon Blanc verbrachte nach Abschluss der alkoholischen Gärung zehn Monate im Fass auf der groben Hefe, gefolgt von weiteren fünf Monaten im Stahltank auf der feinen Hefe.

Perfekter Blend
Vor 10 Jahren noch ungeschliffen und eher rauh und bitter hat sich der Isliedh zu einer der besten weißen Cuvées Südafrikas entwickelt. Die Zugabe von Sauvignon Gris mit Jahrgang 2022 war wohl das Tüpfelchen auf das i. Eleganz und ein perfektes Zusammenspiel von Mineralik, präziser Säure und feiner Cremigkeit zeichnen diese perfekte Cuvée aus.
