The Boschkloof Epilogue captivates with a seductive aroma of dark berries, black pepper, and a whisper of garrigue herbs, reflecting its characteristic granite origin. On the palate, it presents a dense and structured profile with juicy flavors of blackberry, sloe, and black olives, complemented by elegant roasted notes from 40% new French oak. This complex and multifaceted Syrah is a true masterpiece, embodying both power and balance, and showcasing remarkable aging potential.
Epilogue ist der Spitzenrotwein des Weinguts Boschkloof und stammt aus einer einzigen Weinbergparzelle. Der Syrah-Klon SH99 wächst auf verwittertem Granitboden in den Hügeln von Stellenbosch. Die Trauben wurden von Hand gelesen und zu 60 % mit ganzen Trauben vergoren. Die Vinifikation erfolgte so natürlich wie möglich, ohne Zugabe von Reinzuchthefen. Der Wein reifte zu 60 % in Beton und zu 40 % in neuen französischen Eichenfässern (alle 400 Liter) und wurde nur minimal filtriert.
