Wine and Lebenslinien – A Future for the Children at the Cape

Today, we would like to share our experiences and insights regarding what has transpired at the Cape this year.

Through this newsletter, we provide you with insights into our heartfelt project, Lebenslinien e.V., twice a year.

Many of our donors have come to know us in this way – those who witness what happens on site recognize immediately that this is about genuine assistance.

The Lebenslinien projects embody a true labor of love—characterized by commitment, closeness, and responsibility.

2025 was demanding. The wine market is shrinking, structures are changing, and our work continues unabated.

In Grabouw, however, something emerged that gives us hope every day: Our projects are expanding.

The nearly completed Eagle's Nest Resource Center will soon provide safety, support, and perspective for up to 300 children daily.

If you find yourself at the Cape, you are warmly invited to visit us.

In 2025, we hosted more guests than ever before—18 visitors from Germany came to witness the farewell of our preschool children.

These were moving moments filled with pride and gratitude.

The Almost 11 – Values for Life

Themba trains over 160 children daily, volunteering in addition to his work at the hospital. He instills discipline, respect, teamwork, and self-confidence.

We aspire to have a proper artificial turf field in place of the dusty surface for over 1,200 school children without sports facilities.

Magic Muffin Bakery – 10,000 Muffins per Week

Vivian and Michelle bake 10,000 muffins weekly, enriched with vitamins and Moringa. For around 2,000 children, this muffin is often the only sweet experience of the day.

Keke and Her Four Girls – A New Path Forward

18 months ago, we met four girls—without school, support, or perspective. Within days, we found help. A private school accepted all four.

Now, they work diligently, smile again, and believe in themselves—the eldest will complete her American High School Diploma and is already enrolled at Stellenbosch University.

This story brings us great joy.

The Eagle's Nest – Center for 300 Children

2025 marked a significant turning point for the Eagle's Nest. Daily, over 90 preschool children are cared for, nurtured, and supported. Starting in January, an additional 200 school children will receive assistance in learning, sports, music, arts, and IT.

We also offer a soup kitchen, a seniors club, a vegetable garden, and a volunteering program. It is a hub of safety, dignity, and growth.

A heartfelt thanks is extended to the Bavarian State Chancellery, which contributed €200,000 for new classrooms as part of the partnership between Bavaria and the Western Cape.

We also express our gratitude to all supporters, patrons, and visitors. None of this would have been possible without you.

Many ask, "How can I help?" Whether through donations, sponsorships, visits, or referrals—every contribution makes a difference.

Thank you for your interest in our project. When you next visit the Cape, the door at the Eagle's Nest stands open—just send a quick email, and we'll arrange a meeting.
