Lumpi: The Quirky Feline Office Assistant

Perhaps you recall our office cat, Lumpi, officially deemed the office assistant in winter and an enthusiastic outdoor adventurer in summer. In 2019, he became a star in our newsletters after audaciously rolling under a moving car, leading to a brief hospital stay, and returning with strict directives: "Avoid streets!" Since that incident, his life, aside from an oil mishap, has been relatively serene, filled with typical office cat tribulations: occasional disputes with neighbors and dental surgery – all manageable.

Now nearing 15, Lumpi has been taking things at a more relaxed pace, occasionally dozing off. With retirement on the horizon, we decided not to reprimand him any further.

In Love, a Bit Crazy and Overwhelmed

However, recently we believed a cat was injured in the garden – the loud cries were shocking! Our fluffy colleague remained undisturbed, gazing at us as if to say, "What’s the commotion?"

As it turns out, our aged Lumpi has captivated a young lady’s heart, a naïve beauty who now longs for a kitten from the seasoned gentleman. The catch? Lumpi had vowed long ago to remain childless, having undergone a little, permanent procedure. Currently, he seems rather puzzled by the situation, and the amorous lady appears incapable of explaining her intentions.

Thus, we’ve been treated to a nightly concert in the garden, unveiling new levels of feminine determination when a lady sets her sights on something….

Fortunately, the frequency of her visits appears to be decreasing, and the affection is tilting toward platonic. Still, she frequently stations herself at our door. Did Lumpi unknowingly connect with a homeless lady? As employers, this scenario makes us slightly anxious, as we can’t accommodate another position for a staff member seeking full retirement benefits. We are curious to see how this whimsical tale unfolds...
