Remhoogte: A New Addition to Our Offerings

Our South Africa wine portfolio now includes Remhoogte, another great addition to the collection. This estate offers a stunning experience for its visitors, providing opportunities for unforgettable memories.

The Boustred family runs the estate, with Rob Boustred leading the charge alongside his brother. Chris specializes in winemaking while Rob handles management.

Notably, the farm is situated on the southwestern slopes of Simonsberg, nestled on ancient soils dating back around 250 million years, among the oldest in any wine region worldwide. The unique terroir enables them to grow exceptional wines, including High-End blends from classic Bordeaux varieties and a remarkable Pinotage.

The white wine offerings focus on exceptional Chenin Blanc, known for thriving in old vines here. Close neighbors such as Muratie, Delheim, and Kanonkop also produce great wines in this region.

In fact, the area is ideal for an extensive wine tasting tour spanning about 12 km. The South African Winelands stand out globally.

Back at Remhoogte, minimal intervention practices shape their philosophy, where everything is done by hand by eight families living on-site, emphasizing quality in their grape production. Visitors can enjoy a warm welcome from “Elsebe” and “Kungeka”, guiding them through the portfolio while enjoying views of protected areas and wildlife.

Exclusive Venue: Restaurant Vuur

Another highlight is “Vuur”, a quaint grill restaurant set under an ancient tree that serves a unique seven-course menu primarily prepared over an open flame, welcoming only small groups of up to 12 people.

Additionally, Goose Island, reachable by a wooden bridge, provides dining with others at a long communal table. Reservations are also available for a couple's experience.

Although we haven't visited yet, we're excited for the opportunity. “Vuur” made it to 88th place in the best steakhouses in the world list in 2022, promising a breathtaking experience with its beautiful location and exceptional service.

Remhoogte wines are included in the price of around €100 per person for pairing.
