Pink Offers and Updates from Cape Wines

For the launch of a small Rosé Offensive, we hardly could have chosen a better date than today, kicking off the second heat wave this summer.

This might bring you joy, or you might be among the group of wine enthusiasts who have avoided Rosés. Perhaps you viewed it as a questionable mix of red and white wine? But fret not! Rosé wine represents a kaleidoscope of red hues and exceptional aromas. Rosés are light wines crafted from red grapes. In short: A premium Rosé is a serious alternative to red and white wines!

Due to such qualities, Rosé has been gaining traction with enthusiasts for years. At the same time, it offers winemakers a chance to express their personal touch in a variety of ways.

This is illustrated in a selection of around 70 Rosés, where you can discover everything – from sweet and low-alcohol terrace wines to refreshing everyday wines and serious meal companions that pair perfectly with just about any dish. Even die-hard red wine lovers may find something they like in the Grangehurst Rosé, as claimed by winemaker Jeremy Walker, who primarily produces red wines, which is obvious from the color of his Rosé.

Before we hopefully welcome you to our shop soon, here are a few insights from South Africa, where residents are currently facing the strongest outages in power supply since 2019. Recently, they experienced up to eight hours without electricity daily, while four to six hours is currently standard.

On the brighter side, it looks like tourism is set for a resurgence this upcoming summer season. This can be inferred from numerous stories from customers reporting how full flights are even now. This is good for the economy in the Cape and also hopefully saves gas in Germany, as those traveling in the Cape hardly need heating.

Finally, a note on the 13th International Nelson Mandela Day. Established by the United Nations General Assembly, this remembrance day has been celebrated annually since 2010 on the birthday of the South African Nobel laureate born in 1918 and aims to promote humanitarian action. Everyone is encouraged to take an active personal role in improving challenging circumstances.

(Offers valid until 20.7.2022)
