Upon arrival, we had to present our vaccination certificates and a health declaration, though the process, while thoughtfully planned, didn’t go smoothly.

The PCR test was quick and led us to a waiting area where snacks and drinks were provided. It was an unusual sight likely not many people experience. Ninety minutes later, we received our test result – fortunately negative.

Given the current landscape, we learned that travelers returning to Frankfurt after a PCR test from South Africa are released into home quarantine. The approach to pandemic measures remains quirky and rather country-specific.
