The original music video showcases no specific dance. However, come February, children from Tanzania and Angola discovered the song and created a dance, uploading it to YouTube. Thus, the Jerusalema Challenge was born!
As the COVID-19 crisis began, the world was instructed to socially and physically distance. Yet, no authority warned against dancing at a safe distance, allowing the fun to flourish.
The timing of the song and dance was perfect. Many yearned for movement and enjoyment, and what better way to achieve that than a group dance with some considerable distance?
