The Avondale La Luna Red Blend stands out as a remarkable red blend crafted in the esteemed Bordeaux fashion. Das Traubengut dieser edlen Rebsorten wurde in den kühlen Morgenstunden per Hand gelesen, entrappt, sanft gequetscht und zwei bis drei Tage lang in Tanks aus Edelstahl ruhen gelassen. Die Gärung auf der Haut fand bei wärmeren Temperaturen zwischen 30 und 32 C° statt und dauerte sieben bis zehn Tage lang an. Die hohe Qualität der Trauben ermöglichte eine ca. 30 Tage lange Quellzeit nach Abschluss der Gärung. Die malolaktische Gärung fand in erst-, zweit sowie drittbelegten Fässern aus französischer Eiche statt. Anschließend reiften die Weine 12 bis 16 Monate lang in Barrique. Bevor die Weine verschnitten und auf die Flasche gefüllt wurden, fand noch eine leichte Filterung statt.
