The Alinea Viura shines with its layered texture and intriguing complexity. Initially, dusty, flint-like notes present themselves, evolving to reveal citrus blossom and elderflower aromas. On the palate, intense flavors of citrus and winter melon delight, concluding with a long, mineral finish that enriches the overall experience.
Die Weinberge befinden sich in Paarl, wo die Reben tief in verwittertem Granitboden verwurzelt sind. Die Trauben wurden in der letzten Februarwoche geerntet. Ganze Trauben wurden schonend gepresst. Nach einer Übernachtung im Tank zur Sedimentation wurde der Saft von der Grobhefe abgezogen und direkt zur Gärung und Reifung in Fässer überführt. Die spontane Gärung erfolgte in alten 600-Liter-Fässern aus französischer Eiche. Der Wein verblieb für zehn Monate auf der Feinhefe im Fass, bevor er abgefüllt wurde.
