Vineyard Rust en Vrede
For more than 315 years Rust en Vrede has nestled in the vineyards of Stellenbosch. For centuries there have been periods of time when wine was produced on the estate, but it is only in the last 32 years that the Engelbrecht family has become the first wine producer to specialise exclusively in the production of red wines - primarily Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
As South Africa's premium red wine estate, Rust en Vrede has received countless awards and recognition, one of the highest honours was that Rust en Vrede's wines were chosen by Nelson Mandela for his Nobel Prize dinner.
Rust en Vrede was the first South African red wine to appear in the ʺTop 100 wine list published by Weltʺ for four consecutive years.
