Wine with cheese
South African wines are excellent accompaniments to cheese and cheese dishes. A strong Pinotage goes perfectly with mature Cheddar or Gouda, while an elegant Chardonnay harmonises ideally with a creamy Brie. A sweet wine whose fruitiness balances out the savoury notes is recommended for blue cheeses. Fortified wines are also great with strong blue cheese or a spicy Stilton and round off the flavour experience.
