Ronnie Melck, a direct descendant of Martin Melck, fulfilled his long-held dream by acquiring the Muratie estate in 1987, which had been in the family since 1763. With his legendary style and natural talent for winemaking, Ronnie Melck has left a lasting legacy. He is the first owner in the long family history to rest under the trees on the highest hill of the estate. The Ronnie Melck Shiraz, with its vivid ruby red hue, sweet spice notes, and floral and berry characteristics, is a tribute to this legendary winemaker – down-to-earth, honorable, and full of integrity.
The grapes for this stunning Shiraz were hand-harvested at optimal ripeness, gently crushed and destemmed. The wine was traditionally fermented in open fermenters and aged for 16 months in 100% French oak barrels.
