Vineyard Glen Carlou
Glen Carlou is located in the heart of South Africa's picturesque Paarl Valley. The warm, dry summers and cold, wet winters in this region, combined with a rich variety of soil types, create unique conditions for wine growing.
Glen Carlou was founded in 1985 and has been successfully owned and managed by Hess Family Estates since 2003.
In order to fully exploit the enormous potential for wine growing, the vines are carefully selected and each variety is tested for compatibility with the terroir. Harvest yields are kept relatively small in order to achieve the highest possible concentration of aromas and fruit notes. Glen Carlous winemaker Arco Laarman and his team create three different wine series: ʺPrestigeʺ, ʺClassicʺ and ʺContemporaryʺ with prizes and recognitions at an international level.
