The Ghost Corner Semillon is an exhilarating expression characterized by its concentration and clarity, showcasing lively aromas of lemon and lime, complemented by delicate notes of juicy pineapple, green melon, and a whisper of fig leaf. It reveals a wonderful texture on the palate, attributed to the extended lees contact, with a crisp finish featuring green apple.

The Ghost Corner series draws inspiration from the rugged coastal terrain of Cape Agulhas near Elim, referred to in Afrikaans as 'Spookdraai', where many ships met their fate. The complexity and dynamism of these wines reflect the captivating tales of their origins at the southernmost point of the Cape Winelands.

Treatment in the cellar

The hand-harvested grapes were crushed at a controlled 8°C and left on skin for eight hours before pressing. After pressing, the juice rested for two days, was racked from the sediment, and inoculated with selected yeasts. 30% of the juice was fermented and matured for five months in French oak barrels of 225 l, while 70% fermented for 24 hours at a regulated 11°C in stainless steel tanks, aging on the fine lees for four months before blending and bottling.
