Vineyard Windmeul
The Windmeul Kelder vineyard is located on the slopes of Paarl Mountain and was once Paarl's best kept secret.
Today, however, the winery is widely known and has won numerous awards and prizes.
The windmill, after which the winery is named, was once the centre of all economic activities in the region. This mill was possibly the best in South Africa at that time. Windmeul Kelder is best known for its Pinotage Reserve, which has twice been voted among the ABSA Top 10 Pinotage over the last three years, with the 2008 Pinotage Reserve Windmeul also having secured a place in the top 5 wineries at the Veritas Awards 2009.
