Signal Gun Wines - Weingut in Durbanville, Südafrika

Located in Cape Town's Durbanville Winelands, the family-run Signal Gun Wines Winery has enjoyed great acclaim and recognition on both the domestic and international wine scene since its establishment in 2006 under the management of the De Wit family. Here, master winemakers Riaan Oosthuizen and MJ De Wit, in collaboration with oenologist Leani De Wit, create their award-winning portfolio of highly acclaimed Cape wines, including the varietal Sea Smoke Sauvignon Blanc, Gun Smoke Merlot and a Method Cape Classique.

What was initially conceived as a pure hobby has gradually grown into a winery that is awarded prestigious prizes and recognition year after year. The vineyards of the Hooggelegen Estates, situated at a high altitude, are particularly suited to the cultivation of Sauvignon Blanc, so it is not surprising that the winery is renowned for its two Sauvignon Blancs, the highlights of its portfolio.

The winery took its name Signal Gun from the three hundred year old Signal cannon, the proud landmark of this Durbanville winery, which is still fired at exactly 1pm on the first Saturday of every month.
