The Plaisir Estate Chardonnay 2023 showcases a delicate straw gold with vibrant green reflections. Its inviting bouquet presents a medley of tropical and citrus aromas, accentuated by notes of grilled pineapple. The Chardonnay grapes were crushed upon arrival at the cellar, with only the free-run juice collected for production, resting overnight. The following morning, the juice was transferred to a mix of 300L French oak barrels (56% new, 24% second-fill, and 20% third-fill) for fermentation. After fermentation, the wine spent nine months on its lees, with regular batonnage to enhance complexity and integrate oak nuances. Partial malolactic fermentation adds to the richness and smooth finish.
