Product information "Diemersdal The Journal Pinotage 2023"

The Diemersdal The Journal Pinotage captivates both the nose and palate with aromas of intense and powerful berry fruit and oriental spice nuances. In the background, aromas of dark chocolate and roasted spices unfold. On the palate, this highly acclaimed Pinotage presents itself with extraordinary complexity and velvety tannins, while the finish offers long-lasting and smooth enjoyment. This Pinotage offers intense aromas of red berries with great complexity, spicy notes and soft, velvety tannins.

The Journal is the ultimate expression of the Diemersdal terroir. The craftsmanship with which The Journal wines are produced is the result of the tradition of Diemersdal and previous generations of winegrowers.

Treatment in the cellar The small, aromatic berries used to make this stunning Pinotage give it excellent structure, remarkable elegance and sophistication. The grapes were crushed and fermented in open French oak vats with a capacity of 1,000 litres at a controlled temperature of 25° - 28° C. Malolactic fermentation was completed in older French barriques, after which the wine matured for 22 months in 100% new French oak barrels (225 litres) before being bottled for enjoyment.
