Vineyard De Toren
The boutique private winery, De Toren, was founded in 1994 by Emil and Sonette Den Dulk. The estate's only 22 ha vineyards are uniquely positioned on the Polkadraai Hills, overlooking Stellenbosch, South Africas Wine Capital.
The name De Toren means ʺder Turmʺ in Dutch and refers to the winery's cellar structure, which is based on gravitational pressing. De Toren's 1999 maiden vintage, "Fusion V", catapulted De Toren into the world elite of wines with numerous awards and prestigious distinctions.
In 2004 the winery added another terroir-specific wine to its range, "De Toren Z", named after the so-called Zephyr wind that often blows across the farm in the afternoons.
