The Carinus Polkadraai Heuwels Chenin Blanc 2023 enchants with remarkable complexity and a multi-layered bouquet of magnolia and star jasmine. Refreshing lime zest notes harmonize beautifully with a delicate hint of waxy oak spices. On the palate, brilliant freshness integrates seamlessly with well-balanced acidity, resulting in a lingering experience. This profound wine originates from a cool-climate bush vineyard in the Polkadraai Hills, cultivated on decomposed granite soils.
Das Traubengut für diesen preisgekrönten Chenin Blanc fermentierte „spontan“ in sogenannten Beton-Eiern. Spontan vergoren bedeutet, dass die Fermentierung ohne den Zusatz kommerzieller Hefen in Gang gesetzt wurde. Ausschließlich „wilde“ Hefe, die in der natürlichen Umgebung und auf der Frucht vorhanden ist, leitete den Gärprozess ein. Reifte 12 Monate lang in Beton und weitere vier Monate im Edelstahltank.
